PADI Instructor Development Courses
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the final step towards becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. During the IDC you’ll learn to use and apply the PADI System of diver education to train recreational scuba divers. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors can conduct a broad range of PADI programs from PADI Discover Scuba Diving through to the PADI Divemaster course.
During the IDC you learn techniques for teaching knowledge development, confined water training and open water training for the full range of PADI courses. The duration of the course is 7 days, and all of our courses are scheduled to precede a PADI Instructor Examination.During the IDC you will be teaching presentations in the classroom, confined water and open water. You will also cover how to organise and conduct the various PADI courses and marketing and customer service issues. We’ll also explore risk management, legal matters relating to diving and dive centre operations.

Emergency First Response
The Emergency First Response Primary/Secondary and Care for Children Instructor is an excellent program that will allow you to teach the full range of EFR programmes. In the UK it can be used to train people to meet the requirements for an 'Appointed Person' in a workplace, also the Care for Children meets the governments requirements for childcare workers, and of course a CPR/first aid course is need for every PADI programme beyond Advanced Open Water Diver.
To enrol on this course you need to only have done EFR Primary/Secondary and Care for Children at consumer level, you don't need to be a PADI Member. The course lasts one day.

PADI IDC Staff Instructor
Once you are a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer you can enrol on the IDC Staff Instructor course. There are two options:
1. A 2-3 day course were you are trained to evaluate, and then present the Assistant Instructor to the Course Director
2. A 8 day programme were you spend 1 day before an IDC being trained in evaluation methodology, and then audit an entire IDC.
The first method is easier for people with busy schedules, and can be run on demand, wereas the second method is fixed by the IDC schedule but gives you more interaction with 'real' candidates.
